Workshop on Cross-Cultural Interaction: «Avoiding Cultural Shocks: Practical Recommendations» for DniproTech Students

On December 19, 2024, an engaging workshop titled «Avoiding Cultural Shocks: Practical Recommendations» took place at the Center for International Cooperation, bringing together over 20 students preparing for or having already participated in international academic mobility programmes.

The workshop aimed to help DniproTech students prepare for new international experiences and make them as comfortable as possible. 

At the beginning of the event, the team from the Center for International Cooperation provided insights into: 

— the role of students in representing Ukraine during mobility programmes; 

— academic integrity and the importance of adhering to its principles; 

— the documentation process for academic mobility;

— sharing participants' mobility experiences on the social media pages of Dnipro University of Technology.   

  
During the workshop, participants learned practical aspects of adapting to studying in a foreign-language environment and received valuable advice on maximizing the opportunities offered by academic mobility programmes.

— Nataliia Nechai, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages; 

— Olesia Cherkashchenko, Senior Lecturer of the Translation Department. 

  
Interactive games, group work, and discussions helped participants better prepare for potential challenges while studying at foreign universities. 

Additionally, the workshop guests had the opportunity to communicate with students who had already experienced academic mobility and learn about real-life experiences of studying abroad. It inspired them and helped boost their confidence regarding their upcoming academic journeys!
