Interactive Session «Project Management for COIL Courses and Expanding Institutional Collaborations»

On 20 November 2025, Dnipro University of Technology academic staff joined an interactive session dedicated to managing COIL projects (Collaborative Online International Learning), organised by the EducationUSA Ukraine team. 

The primary focus was on implementing virtual exchange formats and expanding international cooperation. Dmytro Sokoliuk, Special Projects Coordinator EducationUSA Ukraine, shared his valuable expertise with us.

     

During the session, our representatives walked through the entire lifecycle of an international COIL project — from the initial spark of an idea to integrating shared modules into the curriculum. Participants had the chance to: 

• Figure out how to select the proper discipline and define the concept for a joint module. 

• Gain the tools needed to scout for international partner institutions. 

• Analyse common challenges in international interaction and explore effective strategies to tackle them. 

Working in teams, participants modelled their own COIL modules and immediately looked for common ground for future collaborations. This approach allowed our educators to do more than just hear about opportunities – they took the first real steps towards making them a reality.  

        

The event served as a starting point for new initiatives. Equipped with practical tools, our lecturers are now ready to move to practice: launching their own international projects and establishing professional dialogue with colleagues abroad.
