RESULTS OF THE HIVE PROJECT “HEI INNOVATION FOR KNOWLEDGE INTENSIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP”

On 3 July 2024, the Rector of Dnipro University of Technology awarded certificates to students, postgraduates and lecturers of Dnipro University of Technology who participated in the programme «Entrepreneurship: Turning ideas into business», which is being implemented as part of the EU Horizon Europe project - HIVE «HEI Innovation for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship». The programme was developed in collaboration with 10 leading EU universities with the support of EIT Health and inspired participants to come up with new ideas and projects.

Turning ideas into business. This is the motto of the first edition of the free online training programme developed under the project “HIVE – HEI Innovation for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship” supported by EIT Health and funded by the European Union. The training programme has been developed by a consortium of ten higher education institutions in Europe. The focus of the initiative is to help entrepreneurs bring innovative ideas from concept to market. 

In addition to students, this training programme also included academic and non-academic staff. The programme equipped participants with the skills to develop a comprehensive business plan and create a start-up from scratch.

Available online, the programme can be taken at the specific pace of each participant. Approximately 30 professionals, including both academic and non-academic staff, from the ten higher education institutions that comprise the project consortium, were involved in developing the programme under the coordination of four lecturers from the University of Coimbra.

"This course is the result of the work of an international team with a great deal of know-how in various areas of entrepreneurship. It will undoubtedly be an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their business idea and obtain mentoring tailored to their specific needs," emphasises Gabriela Fernandes, Pro-Rector for Entrepreneurship at the University of Coimbra.

     

The "HIVE - HEI Innovation for Knowledge Intensive Entrepreneurship" project consortium is made up of the University of Latvia (Latvia); University of Coimbra (Portugal), Riga Stradiņš University (Latvia); TED University (Turkiye); Czech University of Life Sciences (Czech Republic); Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences (Austria); ESSEC - Business School (France); Bukovinian State Medical University (Ukraine); Dnipro University of Technology (Ukraine); and Lviv National University (Ukraine). The HIVE consortium also includes business partners such as the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Coursera as an associated partner. 

The initiative is part of the European project HIVE, which the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) is funding, and will support the innovative ideas of students, teachers and non-teaching staff in Higher Education.
