The kick-off meeting of the international research project “Modern Online Teaching Formats for Geodetic Methods for Reconstruction in Ukraine” (GeoRek), supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), took place in Oldenburg, German. The initiative aims to prepare Ukrainian students and researchers for the large-scale reconstruction of Ukraine by integrating modern geodetic methods and digital technologies into the educational process. The joint work of the partners focuses on transferring advanced knowledge in geodesy and land management, which are critically important for the restoration of Ukrainian cities and territories. ![]() Within the project, partners plan to develop innovative training courses, organize international summer schools, and implement virtual tools for digital modelling of objects. This will enable Ukrainian specialists to apply advanced technologies for documenting destruction, analysing spatial data, and planning new infrastructure in accordance with modern European standards. During the meeting, participants discussed both the strategic directions for the development of the GeoRek project and the current state of the educational and research sectors in Ukraine. ![]() The project coordinator at Dnipro University of Technology, Professor of the Department of Geodesy Mykola Trehub, emphasized that despite all the challenges, Ukrainian universities continue to provide high-quality education and develop the human capital necessary for the post-war reconstruction of the country.
