PROJECT SUMMАRY

The general challenge that prompted the development of the project proposal is the significant acceleration of Ukraine's European integration process through the acquisition of EU candidate status, as well as russia's war against Ukraine, which has exacerbated the problem of international security. In the Ukrainian higher education system, this challenge has been transformed into the need to improve the quality of education in European and Euro-Atlantic integration. In this regard, the project aims to integrate the best practices of the EU in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and increase the volume of its importance in Ukrainian society, including in relation to European and transatlantic security, strengthening the role of the EU as a global actor, and the EU- NATO strategic partnership. The novelty of the project lies in the use of an interdisciplinary approach to development and teaching of the elective academic discipline through the involvement of teachers from the Departments of International Relations and Audit and History and Political Theory. Thus, the peculiarity of the project is the synergy of knowledge, experience and teaching skills of the project team members in the fields of "International Relations" and "Political Science". The results of the project include the development of a curriculum and teaching materials for the elective academic discipline "The EU – Ukraine – NATO integration triangle in the context of transatlantic security", publishing of research papers, and the organization and holding of two major communication events involving a wide range of stakeholders, including those outside the academic environment: "Actual Issues of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration" and "Transatlantic Security and the Role of Ukraine". The transnational dimension of the project will include cooperation with European partners from Lithuania, Sweden and Poland.

The project aims to:

1. To promote excellence in teaching and research in European Studies by achieving synergy of knowledge, experience and teaching skills of the project team members in the fields of "International Relations" and "Political Science".

2. Strengthening the dialog between the academic community and society by involving target groups in the implementation of project activities: civil servants, local politicians, representatives of civil society institutions and the media.

3. To generate knowledge and insights that will contribute to strengthening the role of the EU in Europe and in the globalized world by developing a work program for the elective academic discipline "The EU – Ukraine – NATO integration triangle in the context of transatlantic security".

 4. Reaching out to the general public and spreading knowledge about the EU and NATO among the general public through targeted grouping according to certain criteria, through targeted cooperation with the NGO "Institute of Public Expertise" and the NGO "Solidarity Youth", the NGO "Center for Euro- Atlantic Integration in Dnipro", the EU Information Center in Dnipro, and the Zonal Training and Methodological Center of the Dnipro Regional Trade Union Association.
