Piloting of Mentoring and Tutoring

At Dnipro University of Technology, a new phase of the Proment project implementation has officially started! 

💡 This is a space where mentors and mentees come together to share experience, overcome challenges, and shape an inspiring future.

🔑 What are mentoring sessions? They are an environment where students:

✅ receive personalized guidance from experienced professionals; 

✅develop their skills and gain insights into successful career paths; 

✅build a professional network that becomes a valuable long-term asset. 

All intellectual property rights belong to the members of the PROMENT consortium and are protected under applicable law. 

Reproduction is prohibited without prior written consent. 

Within the framework of the project implementation, two new mentoring programmes were piloted:

🔹 Green Deal Mentorship — mentoring focused on sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

🔹 Startup Mentorship — support for student initiatives in developing their own startups. 

✅ The initial results of the pilot phase demonstrated:

• increased awareness of sustainable development goals and environmental trends; 

• development of environmental thinking among students; 

• enhancement of entrepreneurial competencies and teamwork skills; 

• growing motivation to participate in startup projects.

On October 9, 2024, during a meeting with Vitalii Kuzmenko, Head of the Dnipro Cluster at Kyivstar, participants gained valuable insights into how the company adapted its strategy during wartime. They learned how supporting employees and maintaining strong connections with customers helped overcome challenges. The importance of ethical marketing in times of crisis was also discussed.

4Seasons of Marketing — October 25, 2024: the second mentoring session with Dmytro Chudinov took place, bringing the energy of marketing into action.

🔥 Participants once again experienced the strong energy of Ukrainian business. On the occasion of Marketer’s Day, an event was held within the 4Seasons of Marketing project, where Dmytro Chudinov — a graduate of the Marketing Department of Dnipro University of Technology and Deputy Commercial Director at Solar Steelconstruction — shared his professional experience. Participants also learned about studying at one of the leading universities in Dnipro. The event brought together participants both offline and online, creating a platform for discussing current trends in marketing and energy. Students from Chernihiv Polytechnic also joined the event.

Being a student is not only about acquiring knowledge, but also about finding support at every stage of the academic journey. That is why we are developing tutoring — a peer mentoring system where experienced students help first-year students adapt to university life.

Within the PROMENT project, training sessions for tutors and tutees were conducted, focusing on the key aspects of effective mentoring:

✔️ building trust-based communication 

✔️ supporting first-year students during their initial months of study 

✔️ motivating and assisting in solving academic and organizational challenges

 This experience is not only about support, but also about development: tutors enhance their communication, leadership, and coaching skills, which will be valuable in their future careers. Together, we are creating an environment where every student feels confident and has the opportunity to realize their full potential.
