Smart technology to control mining processes while solving the problems of energy saving and energy efficiency

Project author: National Mining University, Department of Automation and Computer Systems, Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine).

Project objective. The Project objective is to categorize new information characteristics of spatial-distributed objects and processes of mining practice basing upon mining mechatronic systems to identify and support their energy-efficient operation modes.

Project background: Information technology applied for new- generation mining equipment is characterized by a great number of means to measure various physical values. However, lack of required algorithms to process and analyze information concerning changes in controlled physical values in the process of mining equipment operation results in the fact that their operation modes are ineffective from the viewpoint of energy consumption due to human factor.

Profound analysis of underground mining processes allows the authors to detect possibility of determining and finding power effective operation modes of mining equipment basing upon identification of physical processes taking place in “machine drive-end organ- environment” system using simulation of mechatronic mining systems and smart digital processing of information signals.
