The kick-off meeting of the ServU project, co-funded by the European Union and the Erasmus+ program, took place at Ukrainian Catholic University on the 28-30th of November, 2023. The meeting was attended by a delegation from Dnipro University of Technology, including Mykola Trehub, Vice-Rector for Perspective Development; Kateryna Priazhnikova, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Center; and Daria Bukrieieva, Head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Finance.

The project aims to enhance synergy between Ukrainian higher education institutions and local territorial communities to contribute to the recovery of Ukraine through the implementation of Service-learning education.

Service-learning education is an innovative educational approach aimed at increasing the social involvement of students and educators to collaboratively effect positive social change alongside the community.

What do we expect?

• Development of a methodology for service-learning education during wartime and recovery. 

• Activation of cooperation between the European Union and Ukrainian higher education institutions in their efforts for the recovery of Ukraine. 

• Sharing of knowledge, exchanging the most effective service-learning strategies, and networking.

This project will be a crucial component of a sustainable educational process, fostering the development and enhancement of students' active citizenship competencies.

Five partners from four countries worldwide are participating in the ServU project, and we hope for its successful implementation within the next 32 months.
