COMPLETION OF THE 2-YEAR FUTURE PROJECT (ERASMUS + K2), COORDINATED BY DNIPRO UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
On August 16-20, the final offline meeting of the FUTURE project consortium participants took place at Dnipro University of Technology. The FUTURE project – “Shaping the Diverse Common Future – a Wide Dialogue to Create and Methodologically Support the Network for Involving Young Migrants into Civil Society” has been aimed at gathering youth around the problem of young migrants’ adaptation after their forced leaving home countries due to armed conflicts and other social disasters. The central event of the meeting was the presentation of one of the main project achievements that is a Toolkit – a methodological manual for young activists of non-governmental organizations, students, university professors and all those who care about youth issues.
The Toolkit is published in English and contains theoretical information, practical cases and descriptions of exercises and activities that can be used in informal communication with young migrants and refugees who require help in a new society because of facing problems of social involvement.
Everything presented in the manual has been tested during the trainings and laboratories of the project, developed by a multicultural team of project participants and has been a “first-hand experience”. The Toolkit was created with the inspiration and ideas of the project participants. A paper version of the toolkit can be found in the library of the Dnipro University of Technology and libraries of partner organizations. The e-Toolkit will be available on the project website and through the communication channels of all members of the partner consortium.
Also during the final meeting there were round tables on evaluation of project results and development of dissemination plans for getting all stakeholders informed of the project outcomes and perspectives. The final meeting brought an additional dissemination event, which arose spontaneously at the request of students majoring in “International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies”. In an informal way, the project participants told future international experts about the problems of the project and its main results. And, of course, the final meeting was the starting point for future collaboration ideas.
It is important to note that the FUTURE project has been coordinated by the Dnipro University of Technology since 2018 in partnership with 4 NGOs from different countries: Associazione Connecting Europe (Italy), Fundacja Instytut Innowacji (Poland), Inceptus (Lithuania), International center for peace and integration (Georgia). The central topic of all project activities was helping young migrants to socialize in new countries, for which a number of trainings, research activities and conferences were conducted, an “Inspirational Portal” was developed, a methodological Toolkit was created, art objects were crafted (photo exhibition and art wall) and a network of like-minded people in partner countries was shaped.
From the Dnipro University of Technology, the project was implemented by the Department of International Relations and Audit and the Department of International Projects with the strong support of the university management, financial, marketing, media and business offices, university library, university student council and all sincere friends of the project.
