Smart technology to control processes of grain storage and processing in the problems of energy saving and energy efficiency

Project author: National Mining University, Department of Automation and Computer Systems, Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine).

Project objective. The Project objective is to determine new information characteristics which favour raising energy effectiveness of measures aimed at maintenance of grain quality at the enterprises of storage and processing in terms of simulating control systems for drying, storage and transportation to identify and support energy-efficient operation modes.

Project background. Information technology applied at modern enterprises of grain storage and processing can be characterized, on the one hand by considerable number of control and management facilities, and on the other hand by increased requirement in non-standard substandard measuring equipment which can be explained by economical inexpediency of industrial means. Anyway, lack of required methods to process and analyze information concerning changes in grain consumer characteristics as well as scheduled and actual energy consumption to preserve them in the process of storage result in the fact that operation modes of production facilities turn out to be energetically ineffective due to human factor.

Intensive study of grain storage and processing procedure helps authors to determine and monitor energy-effective modes of grain storage in terms of identification of physical processes taking place in grain driers with the help of simulating systems to control processes of grain drying, storage, and transportation as well as smart digital data signal handling.
