INTERNATIONAL PROJECT FOR THE EU PROGRAM "YOUTH IN ACTION" FOR THEMATIC DIRECTION

«E(C)HO: ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES - HUMAN OBLIGATION»

 

How often do you think about the fact that every minute of our lives we have an impact on the environment? Have you noticed that nature is able to respond with echoes to any action addressed to it?

These are the questions that students and their teachers have reised during the implementation of the project Ec(h)o Environmental Changes - Human Obligation (within the EU program "Youth in Action"), which have been organised on April 22-30, 2013 at the Krakow Mining and Metallurgical Academy (Poland) and have brought together young leaders from four countries: Ukraine, Poland, Russia and Germany. All events of the project were aimed at the formation of environmentally responsible behavior and involvement in a healthy lifestyle of student youth. This is quite difficult in today's environment, when consumption is rising, the pace of life is accelerating every minute, and we do not think about what the consequences may be for us personally, for our region, country, continent and the world as a whole. We often lack the basic knowledge in everyday life to contribute to resource conservation and by our own example to encourage family, friends, acquaintances and colleagues to take a responsible attitude to the environment.

 

Projects objectives:

 

• Establishment of friendly contacts, creating a climate of mutual cooperation between the partners, and overcoming cultural stereotypes.
• Expanding environmental awareness of participants gain skills towards pro-ecological behavior.
• Enhancing motivation for the reception and transmission of knowledge about the current state of the environment, the existing natural resources, their protection and proper operation, and appropriate behavior in the environment.
• Promoting the need for understanding of natural, cultural and social value for the environment, individual people and society in general.
• Defining roles and responsibilities for all citizens for starting for present and future state of the environment.
• Study threats that arise from over-exploitation of the environment and consumer lifestyle.
• Awareness of youth that future of Europe depends on them.

Projects results:

 

• spreading awareness on environmental problems and prospects for participating countries and EU in general;
• improving skills of intercultural communication and ability to work in international teams.
